Quo Vadis Populism

14 June 2019

The populism of a certain kind is almost as old as politics. However, a new breed of a
regenerated populist trend is sweeping Europe. Populist movements are gaining traction all
around the continent posing a significant threat to the liberty and rule of law.
Populists are seldom able to come up with comprehensive actionable policy proposals that
address complex global challenges, yet their appeal to the masses are remarkable. Their
simplistic narrative portraying the world as black-and-white reaches millions, undermining the
institutions what made our world today such as the independent judiciary, rule of law and a free
press.
So it is the primary task for defenders of liberty, peace, and prosperity to stand up for this
challenge.
